Between 1991 and 1997 existed a rap-rivalry between East-coast and West-coast rap scenes, where unlike today’s feuds over social media, converged into a war that resulted in real lives being lost.
At the center-point of it all, was East-coast’s The Notorious B.I.G. and West-Coast’s Tupac Shakur. In the latest trailer the All Eyez on Me biopic, we see that suspense escalating amidst a backdrop of police brutality, while Tupac (played by Demetrius Shipp Jr) confronts pressure to find his voice as a leader of the black community. Despite their obvious personal objects, in the trailer, Biggie and Tupac agree on one thing: “Loyalty is everything.”
Jamal Woolard is reprising his role as Biggie from the previous biopic Notorious, with persomances by Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight, Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett, and Harold House Moor as Dr. Dre. There’s no official release date, but it’s expected to drop sometime this year during the 25th anniversary of Tupac’s death.
