Turnstile share highly anticipated, bold new record ‘Glow On’

Today, Baltimore’s frenetic five-piece Turnstile released their much-anticipated third studio album Glow On via Roadrunner records.

Never diverting from their hardcore origins, the group offers mosh pit ragers with thrashing guitar and explosive energy. However, the record sees Turnstile do complex creative experimentation with bold piano-led intros, dreamy synth sequences and lush, soaring vocals.

Last month, Turnstile shared the interstellar single “Alien Love Call” featuring Blood Orange. The track is dreamy with airy vocals that drift over mesmerizing electric riffs. The song, just over halfway through the record, allows you to come up for air in the midst of sound.

The album is vulnerable, dealing with complicated relationships and heartbreak. Opening with a soft piano rhythm, “Fly Again” is a rambunctious break-up tune that mulls over the question “do you really wanna fly again?” before deciding he “still can’t fill the hole you left behind”. “Dance-Off” consists of a cowbell-infused beat and states that “it’s goodbye, it was a good time, the world is changing”.

The LP was previewed earlier this year in June when Turnstile shared their EP Turnstile Love Connection EP alongside a short film. The EP consists of four tracks that are now on the full-length album including “Holiday”, “No Surprise”, “Mystery” and “T.L.C”.

Meanwhile, Turnstile are about to embark on a sold out US tour as well as perform at several festivals including Firefly, Louder than Life, Knotfest and Furnace Fest.
