Twin River return with first new song in over six years ‘Over and Over,’ announce forthcoming EP

Vancouver’s Twin River are back to announce their first EP in more than six years, When We Think About Time, out August 12th via Light Organ Records. As part of the announcement, they’ve shared a video for their new single, “Over and Over.”

Today’s release is all about being stuck in the cycle of letting someone go while still worrying about their wellbeing. The accompanying video is perfectly picturesque, as Twin River perform in a forest beneath hazy effects, interspersed with shots of frontwoman Courtney Ewan posing in front of a series of backdrops.

“‘Over and Over is about watching someone you love struggle with addiction, and the overwhelming spiral of watching history repeat itself,” Ewan explains. “It’s a war between a sense of personal responsibility to this person and the urge to protect yourself; trying to impose boundaries but also feeling called to jump back in whenever the same alarm bells are rung. It’s like being caught in an undertow and never really sure when or where you’re going to pop back up – just when you think you’re headed for the shore, it grabs you again and pulls you back under – over and over.”

Produced by Colin Stewart, When We Think About Time was recorded at the Hive Creative Labs on Vancouver Island. Twin River’s Ewan and Andy Bishop recruited collaborators Louise Burns, Yukon Blonde’s Rebecca Gray, Ladyhawk’s Ryan Peters, and Darcy Hancock.
