Ty Segall has shared his new single, “Saturday Pt. 2.”

The track comes from Segall’s forthcoming album, Hello, Hi, out July 22nd via Drag City. Today’s preview is more of a tender psych-rock tune. Packed with a smooth chorus and a stunning saxophone solo from Segall’s collaborator Mikal Cronin, the track takes a much different vibe than the previously released fuzzed-out title track. Ultimately, it’s a guitar-driven tune with a bluesy groove to it.

“‘Saturday Pt. 2’ concludes a mini-suite that forms the penultimate movement of ‘Hello, Hi,'” a press release explains. “Fuzz-free guitars roll forth, ringing with consonance and humble purpose. Ty’s reassuring murmur leads the way until Mikal Cronin’s elegant saxophone throws open the windows, losing joy, hysteria and all the other simple pains and pleasures that have sat behind closed doors for so long. It’s a slow-roiling escape-anthem, finally sighting that’s been missing and wished-upon for what seems like forever: the time we find to play, the magical expanse of Saturday.”

Last summer, Segall surprise released a new album called Harmonizer, which he then followed up with the soundtrack for Whirlybird. Now, Segall is readying yet another new album.

In addition to “Saturday Pt. 2,” Hello, Hi features the previously released title track.
