Meg Remy’s project U.S. Girls have shared a video for their new collaboration with classical pianist Glenn Gould (1932-1982), “Good Kinda High.”
The track comes almost forty years after Gould’s death. The unlikely collaboration comes from producer Billy Wild’s project, Uninvited Guests. The album uses samples of Gould performances to make new music in collaboration with genre-spanning contemporary artists. For the U.S. Girls tune, “Good Kinda High,” Remy wrote over a beat that Gould produced alongside Gabriel Pick.
“I like to imagine Gould and I as two freaks on the same leash,” Remy explains. “Trying to be invisible trying to be seen.”

About Uninvited Guest:
Uninvited Guest was originally incubated alongside Wild’s Toronto-based collective, Division 88. They deep-dove into Gould’s catalog, keeping the integrity of the original songs while reworking them into something new and modern.
In fact, Gould was shunned by the Classical community when he was alive because of his views on the role of technology in the future of music. In addition to “Good Kinda High,” Uninvited Guest features collaborations with Your Hunni, AARYS, Ro Joaquim, and more.
“This started 7 years ago as a challenge on whether or not Glenn Gould could be made to sound current,” Wild explains. “The main thing I learned on Gould is that he truly belonged to this generation.”
