Up and Comers is a monthly feature of local, national and international bands you need to know about. This month’s feature includes three bands from all over the map: Big Lonely, The Griswolds, and Typefighter.
This foursome was born in Burlington, Ontario back in 2012 and have been progressing steadily ever since. As a young band it can be challenge to find your style and really hone in on it, but what Big Lonely has done on their debut record, Close Your Eyes, Keep Talking, is very impressive. Big Lonely matches dark themes with aggressive, yet infectious, indie pop sounds that are sure to stick in your brain.

The Griswolds not only have a great name, but they have a great record out called Be Impressive. Make sure you check them out when they open for Walk The Moon at The Danforth Music Hall on April 8th and watch their video for “Beware Of The Dog” below:
Straight out of Washington, DC comes a garage pop band with tunes that will get stuck in your head all day. Typefighter has been around for the better part of five years and have shared the stage with bands like Titus Andronicus, PUP, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and more.
