Renowned indie outfit Vampire Weekend performed their first official live show in four years earlier this month.
The band kicked off a summer tour with a new lineup on the Father’s Day weekend with a show in Ojai, California. Longtime keyboardist and backing singer Rostam Batmanglij quit the band two years ago, venturing off as a solo artist.
Over the weekend, Vampire Weekend performed at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California, where they mashed up the classic Beatles song “Here Comes The Sun” with “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” from their debut record. In a clip of the half end of the song posted to YouTube, the band can be heard performing the chorus to their own song before effortlessly transitioning to “Here Comes The Sun” and back again.
