Video: The Lumineers “Submarines”

Denver folk rockers release a new animated video for the latest single from their 2012 debut album

Denver darlings The Lumineers just premiered their new video for “Submarines” from their 2012 self-titled debut album.

The animated piece is directed by longtime friend of the band, Nicholas Sutton Bell, whose work fans will recognize from the band’s tour posters and merchandise. The video is inspired by animation techniques of Bell’s friend Neil Dvorak and the video game Limbo. According to a press release, the end result “is a special blend of various animation styles and illustrations, which delivers an impressionistic journey through the demons of our past and how they shape our inevitable future.”
