Lou Reed – “Perfect Day”

Destroyer recently delivered an unbelievable cover of Lou Reed’s “Ecstasy.” In the middle of their set at Brooklyn Steel, frontman Dan Bejar paused to reveal that he would “try and read this Lou Reed poem.” The rest of the band then launched into the quirky instrumental line as Bejar delivered half-sung-half-spoken lyrics from the 2000 track, making for a gritty performance of the tune. Beastie Boys – “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)”

The first full-length trailer for the new Spike Jonze-directed Beastie Boys Story is here. The forthcoming flick is based on the 2019 two-man show of the same name, and it saw surviving Beastie Boys members Ad-Rock and Michael “Mike D” Diamond telling the tale of the legendary group. The trailer for the film, which is soundtracked to “Sabotage,” comes packed with archival footage of the band performing, and clips from the two-man show. Watch the trailer here.

Depeche Mode – “Somebody”

The 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland has been postponed because of the quickly spreading coronavirus. The ceremony, which was going to take place at the city’s Public Hall, was set to see the induction of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, the Doobie Brothers, T-Rex, and Notorias B.I.G. “The health and safety of our fans and visitors is our highest priority,” an official statement explains.

David Bowie – “Let’s Dance”

Daniel Radcliffe recently revealed that his dream role in a music biopic would be David Bowie. “If you’re talking like dream thing, who would it be fun to play and which songs it would be great to sing, then I suppose it’d be David Bowie,” Radcliff explained, according to Yahoo!.

INXS – “Never Tear Us Apart”

In a long-awaited project to raise money for bushfires and climate charities in Australia, Julia Stone has released Songs For Australia, a charity covers album featuring artists like Kurt Vile, The National, Paul Kelly and more. On the album, various Australian and international artists cover classic Australian songs.
