Prince – “Purple Rain”

Prince’s 1999 Super Deluxe Edition has just been released. The Prince estate has partnered with Warner Records and together they have launched the new package, which contains 65 tracks. This includes 35 tracks that have never been released until now. In total that is about five CDs and ten 180g vinyl records. The 1982 album gave us top hits and classics like “Little Red Corvette,” “Delirious,” and of course “1999.” The title track “1999” has gotten the royal reissue and it comes with alternate versions and remixes, as well as unreleased tracks and live cuts.

Iggy Pop – “The Passenger”

Iggy Pop has released an “Offically Unofficial” Mac DeMarco-directed video for his Free track, “Sonali.” The clip is just as peculiar as you’d expect, as it sees DeMarco’s girlfriend Kiera McNally and their friend Tommy Midnight making their way through their day as lizard people that rivals the likes of the characters in DeMarco’s recent clips. The video for “Sonali” follows “Lizard Man” Midnight as he frustratingly tried to make his way home from work in traffic. Watch the clip here.

New Order – “True Faith”

Calling all New Order fans! Head to Remix Lounge tonight to take part in their 80’s and 90’s video dance party, which is New Order themed! The event will screen both custom and classic videos for tracks like “Ceremony,” “Temptation,” “Your Silent Face,” “Blue Monday,” and more!

Aretha Franklin – “Respect”

A new video of Aretha Franklin performing “O Tannenbaum” has been released, and it sees the artist wailing powerful lines with ease. The footage sees Franklin singing the carol with hybrid lyrics in both English and German, atop simple, yet impactful piano chords. Watch the clip here.

Talking Heads – “And She Was”

Talking Heads’ frontman David Byrne is now a Broadway star with his new show, American Utopia. The performance came out of Byrne’s recent world tour, as Byrne chats about its production, his time in Talking Heads, Greta Thunberg, and more.
