After touring extensively over the past two years, playing over 200 shows with the likes of Tokyo Police Club, Will Butler, Wintersleep, July Talk and more, Halifax’s Walrus have shown no intention of slowing down.
During an off day in between a four show stint with Matt Mays at the shore club in Hubbards, N.S., the band enlisted the help of their friend Jeff Miller to record a music video for their psychedelic tune “Feels”. It’s the latest single from the band’s EP Goodbye Something, which released on Dan Mangan’s Madic Records.
Soaring vocal melodies weave through washed out, 60s surf-rock that imagines the kind musical lovechild that would spawn from the likes of Mac DeMarco and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James.
“We wanted to do our take on an old grey whistle test style video. Our pal Jeff Miller was behind the camera and we recorded it at the bus stop theatre in Halifax. we love working with Jeff and he had done our first two videos as well. We finished our part that afternoon and made our way back to Hubbard’s for our show that night, then Jeff put the whole thing together.“
Walrus is currently embarked on a tour that has seen them perform with Plants and Animals and Besnard Lakes. They arrive in Toronto at the Silver Dollar September 28th. Watch the music video for “Feels” here:
