Last year, The War On Drugs released a hazey cover of Warren Zevon’s “Accidentally Like A Martyr” via Spotify Studios NYC. Last night, fans who went to the show at NYC’s Brooklyn Steel got to hear the amazing cover, yet, with a surprising twist. The band invited up The Hold Steady’s frontman, Craig Finn, to take the lead on vocals for the song, calling him “Zevon freak”.
Finn sang the tune, giving the audience a show with his usual eccentric manner. Adam Granduciel popped in provide harmonies as well as taking the lead on a couple of verses. The two frontman’s styles, although very different, made a unique performance and looked like they were having a heck of a time. It was definitely a show-stopping moment.
