The Harlem Globetrotters are the most famous trick-shot basketball team to ever play the sport – and they just proved why, once again. While their most recent unreal effort is in fact 10-feet short of the world’s tallest basketball shot ever made, it is way cooler. Instead of lobbing the ball up in the air, Anthony “Buckets” Blakes shoots the ball downward creating an unreal curve to the shot, which is due to – without getting overly scientific – the spin of the ball, wind, and gravity. Apparently the phenomenon is known as the “Magnus Effect”.
