Watch: Alt-J Share Eerie New ‘Deadcrush’ Video Featuring Danny Brown

Alt-J are set to release an album of re-worked material from their third full-length record, Relaxer. The new record, Reduxer, will arrive on September 28 and will feature collaborations with the likes of Pusha-T, Danny Brown, Twin Shadow, Goldlink, Rejjie Snow, and The Alchemist.

The British indie rockers shared a taste of what’s to come with an eerie new video directed by Jeron Braxton. “Deadcrush” feature the aforementioned Brown, as well as some original Playstation-inspired visuals from Braxton.

Check out Alt-J’s latest video below.

“Visually the video tells the story of how the CIA introduced old guns and cocaine into the black community in order to raise funds for the Nicaraguan contras,” Braxton said in a release. “The introduction of weapons and cocaine in the black community gave power to the War-on-Drugs and the amount of Black men incarcerated creating this violent cycle of destruction that plagues the black community today. The blue flames represent the violent cycles of destruction. The demons creating the fire symbolize how drug addiction and gun violence are like demons that posses its victims to keep the cycle going. Slavery never really ended but just evolved into mass incarceration.”
