Arcade Fire greeted Barcelona with an 18-song live set and their first full-band performance since 2014.
While new songs were absent from their Razzamatazz performance last night, their performance serves as the starting point in preparation for upcoming festival dates (notably WayHome). Win Butler and Régine Chassagne unveiled a new song in Paris earlier this year, meaning new music is coming shortly.
“Here Comes The Night Time”
Previous Arcade Fire albums have all been released within three years of each other: Funeral (2004), Neon Bible (2007), The Suburbs (2010) and Reflecktor (2013). Many thought late 2016 would bring a fresh album, but it looks as though we’ll be seeing a spring 2017 release according to Will Butler during a recent Reddit AMA.
We can now hope for an official single release later this year.
