Watch: Arlo Parks delivers intimate performance of ‘Black Dog’ on ‘The Tonight Show’

20-year-old London-based artist performs a track from her debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams

Arlo Parks was the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday night, where she turned in an intimate performance of “Black Dog” from her 2021 debut record Collapsed in Sunbeams.

Early in the performance Parks revealed herself to be sporting a backpack containing a sunflower, while walking and singing along a pathway lined with the flowering plants. The 20-year-old singer capped her Fallon debut with a full-band performance in front of a backdrop lined with sunflowers.

Parks made her North American television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! shortly after the arrival of Collapsed in Sunbeams.

“My album is a series of vignettes and intimate portraits surrounding my adolescence and the people that shaped it. It is rooted in storytelling and nostalgia – I want it to feel both universal and hyper specific,” Parks said of Collapsed in Sunbeams, which was released on January 29th, 2021 on Transgressive Records.

The London-based singer-songwriter was recently an ambassador for the British mental health charity, CALM.

Arlo Parks is currently scheduled to make an appearance on on the Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats remix EP UNLOCKED 1.5, arriving March 5th.
