Watch: Art d’Ecco Shares New Single ‘Never Tell’

New album 'Trespasser" coming this fall

Mysterious glam-rocker Art d’Ecco has shared a funky new single “Never Tell” with a video to boot.

The new track comes from Art d’Ecco’s album Trespasser, his debut for Paper Bag Records, on October 12th. “We were going for a Wizard of Oz meets Nicholas Winding Refn thing,” says Art d’Ecco in a press release “There’s a nod to Lost Highway in there. Nobody “plays” the sax better than Bill Pullman, but I did my best.”

“We wanted to make it look old school and to do that we played around with different filters and vintage lenses,” says cinematographer Wai Sun Cheng of the new video. “The colour theme was mostly chosen based on 80s poster art. d’Ecco brought a bunch of vintage instruments he used on the recording to the shoot and that really adds to the overall look of the video.”

Much of the album came about when d’Ecco holed in a cabin he had lived in as a child, barricading himself with copies of Deerhunter’s Cryptograms, Bowie’s Low, “and choice krautrock records.”
