Watch: Ascot Royals (Collective Arts Black Box Session)

Watch Ascot Royals belt out incredible acoustic jams live at Indie88 in the Collective Arts Black Box.

Although formed in Canada, Ascot Royals features members with some surprising origins. While bassist Scott Page and drummer Sam Stark are both Canadian-born, singer Jimmy Chauveau and his brother Ben (keyboards) were born and raised in England. Guitarist Tal Vaisman comes from Israel, and moved to Canada after serving as a combat soldier in Gaza.

“Creating and sharing music with the message of living life to the fullest is very important to me,” drummer Sam Stark explains on their website, “the music reflects the awareness of living in those moments, but also a sense of forging ahead and looking to the future.”

The band has played at WayHome, and just finished a lengthy cross-Canada tour with the Big Wreck. They stopped in at Indie88 to perform two songs from their recently released EP New Skin live in the Collective Arts Black Box.
