Last night, Beirut took to the stage on The Late Show to perform the title track from their recently released album, Gallipoli.
The powerful performance follows frontman Zach Condon as he plays the trumpet alongside bandmates on the trombone, keyboard, bass, and drums. The melancholic folk rock track is orchestral and empowering, while centralizing on pensive, wistful lyrics like, “We tell tales to be known, or be spared the sorrow/ You’re so fair to behold, what will be left when you’re gone?/ And it shapes everything you know, how we learn and the wonders we love.”
