Watch: Benjamin Lazar Davis shares meta-video for catchy new song ‘What If I’

He's set to release a solo album next year

While gearing up for a solo album that’s set for release next year, Benjamin Lazar Davis has shared a video for his catchy new single “What If I?”

The catchy track is based on a Bach chorale called “Preserve My Faith From Error Free,” and it’s all about a relationship that needed saving. The accompanying meta-video sees Benjamin Lazar Davis alone as he films himself making a music video with a drone.

“This video was made during the first few months of quarantine, in the desert — 2 hours outside of Los Angeles,” Benjamin Lazar Davis explains. “My goal was to make the video without anybody else’s help. I bought a drone and a GoPro camera and Final Cut and proceeded to make a music video about making a music video of myself. It was really fun and hard and I learned so much.”
