Big Thief have debuted their new track “Simulation Swarm” on Instagram.
The video sees frontwoman Adrianne Lenker performing the track with a hypnotic acoustic guitar line. The track, which was reportedly recorded in March 2020, marks the first hint of full-band music since the release of their Two Hands outtake, “Love In Mine.” According to the caption, Big Thief are “still working on this one.”
Lenker’s got some particularly delicate vocals on this one, as she delivers lines like, “From the 31st floor of the simulation swarm.”

While we haven’t gotten new material from Big Thief since Two Hands, Adrianne Lenker has since released companion albums songs and instrumentals, drummer James Krivchenia dropped an ambient album, and guitarist Buck Meek also shared a solo album.
