Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has continued his “No Fun Mondays” quarantine series by delivering a cover of the Bangles’ “Manic Monday” with the band’s very own Susanna Hoffs.
The pair turned the 1986 hit, which was written by Prince, into a power-pop anthem with a crunchy palm-muted guitar line as they perform in a split-screen format. Throughout the video, Armstrong plays the track and sings along seated on his couch while Hoffs bounces around in what appears to be an at-home music room.
The new cover follows Billie Joe Armstrong’s previous “No Fun Mondays” videos, which saw him performing Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory” and Tommy James And The Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now.”
