Watch: Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend perform at Bernie Sanders campaign rallies

While gearing up for today's Iowa caucus

While gearing up for today’s Iowa caucus, Bernie Sanders invited with Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend to come on stage for a pair of Get Out the Vote events.

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon performed at the Horizon Events Center in Clive on Friday night, where he played a nine-track acoustic set featuring Bon Iver classics like “For Emma,” “Flume,” and “Blood Bank.” Vernon even delivered powerful renditions of Bob Dylan and Leon Russel covers.

Vampire Weekend’s “Bernie Caucus Concert,” on the other hand, took place at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids on Saturday. After a speech from Sanders himself, Ezra Koenig and co. played a 15-song set featuring tracks like “Harmony Hall,” “Sunflower,” “2021,” and “Unbelievers.” Rounding out the show, the jangly indie pop outfit even delivered a cover of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town” before playing “A-Punk.”
