Watch: Bright Eyes give first performance in nine years on ‘Colbert’

Their new album drops on August 21

The last time Bright Eyes performed live together was at a show at Honolulu’s Hawaii Theatre, and now the band has reunited for a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Marking their first performance in about nine years, Bright Eyes performed their new song “Mariana Trench.” The trio appear to be performing from a studio together, delivering an amazing rendition that included backup singers and horn players, a bassist, and a drummer alongside band members Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott.

Watch Bright Eyes’ performance of “Mariana Trench” below.

Down In The Weeds, Where The World Once Was drops on August 21st.
