Cat Clyde and Jeremie Albino are readying the release of their collaborative album, Blue Blue Blue, on May 21st via Cinematic Music Group, and today they’ve previewed the collection with the release of “Freight Train.”
“Freight Train,” which marks the follow-up to their recently released single, “Been Worryin’,” is a gritty, folk-driven tune with the perfect amount of twang, as Albino and Clyde harmonize on lines like, “Freight train, freight train, goin’ so fast.” The accompanying video comes packed with vintage black-and-white clips of trains.
“We have been in love with this song since the first time we played it together years ago, and it inspired the original idea of doing a covers album together. After trying it a couple different ways we decided the stripped-down raw performance really felt like the best way to pay homage to ‘Freight Train,’ a song written by Elizabeth Cotten when she was 11-years-old!”
