Watch: Chris Cornell’s children accept the Soundgarden frontman’s Grammy with heartbreaking speech

'I never thought we would be standing here without my dad'

Late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell won his third Grammy award last night, when his previously unreleased track “When Bad Does Good” won for Best Rock Performance. Cornell’s children Christopher and Toni took to the stage to deliver a heartbreaking acceptance speech in honour of their father.

“I never thought we would be standing here without my dad,” Christopher began. The touching speech painted a clear vision of the legendary frontman, as his children described him as the Godfather of grunge, a creator of a movement, the greatest father, and their hero. “His voice was his vision and his music was his peace … this is for you, daddy,” Cornell’s daughter Toni went on to say.
