Watch: Claud releases animated video for new track ‘Guard Down’

'Super Monster' drops on Friday via Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory Records

Claud is set to release their forthcoming album Super Monster this Friday (February 12th) via Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records, and today they’ve shared a video for their new track “Guard Down.”

The new track, which follows the release of “Cuff Your Jeans,” “Gold,” and “Soft Spot,” comes packed with a driven beat and bedroom pop-style vocal lines, for a catchy track about struggling to open up. The accompanying animated, otherworldly video tells the tale of Claud falling for someone and struggling to let their guard down.

“I have the hardest time opening up and letting my guard down,” Claud explains of the new track. “When I wrote this song, I had just found out somebody I had feelings for started seeing someone else and my immediate emotional response was to convince myself I didn’t care, even though I really did. The verses and chorus sort of make fun of how I keep myself closed off, but my rap towards the end of the song is a super honest stream of consciousness.”
