After the success of their 2019 album Everyday Life, Coldplay has been consistently delivering some great music videos. Today, they’ve released a dystopian, Animal Farm-esque music video for “Trouble in Town.”
The six-minute video follows anthropomorphic animals as they navigate a gloomy world. In one clip, news on the cab’s radio reassures listeners that rates of homelessness are at an all time low, before panning to a shot of a homeless animal sitting outside, reading George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
In a press release, Coldplay said, “All proceeds from the song and the video will be split between two organizations: the Innocence Project, which works to overturn wrongful convictions in the US, and ACFS, a charity for vulnerable children in South Africa, some of whom provided vocals for the original track.”
