The long-awaited Amy trailer is finally here, and it’s a little emotional.
The new extended trailer features home videos of the late singer, including clips of her singing as a young teen. It also offers a glimpse into Winehouse’s troubled romantic life: “I fell in love with someone who I would’ve died for. And that’s like a real drug isn’t it?” Check it out below:
In the trailer, a young Amy is heard saying that she doesn’t think she’s “going to be famous” and that she’s “not a girl trying to be a star… I’m just a girl that sings.” If only she’d known.
Since the first look at director Asif Kapaida’s upcoming Amy Winehouse documentary came out about a month ago, there’s been a bit of controversy surrounding some of the claims being made. Winehouse’s family has said that the film is “misleading,” and have distanced themselves from its production.
Amy will be out in theatres July 10.
