Watch: Father John Misty plays track he claims was rejected from ‘A Star is Born’

A country waltz made for Jackson Maine

On Friday Night, Father John Misty performed at the Armory in Minneapolis where he performed a tune that he claimed he wrote for A Star is Born, but it didn’t make the final cut.

FJM performed the track at the end of his set, when he came out for an encore and sang lines like, “Though I know it may sound cruel, inconvenient for you and ugly/ But I’m too handsome and pine/ So you tell me what’s a man to do/ When a man done lost all his pride?” Overall, the track revolves around a country waltz that sounds made for the film’s Jackson Maine.

Watch Misty perform the untitled track at the 1:20:00 mark below.
