Watch: Gorillaz share animated video for new track ‘Désolé (feat. Fatoumata Diawara)’

Gorillaz have shared a video for “Désolé,” their new collaboration with Malian musician Fatoumata Diawara.

The track comes packed with a killer groove, strings, and horns, as Diawara and Damon Albarn sing together in English, French, and Bambara. The clip, which marks the second installment of Gorillaz’s Song Machine series, sees the band discovering a door in their Kong Studios that leads to a dock in Lake Como, where Diawara and Albarn cruise in the water on a speedboat.

“Making ‘Désolé’ with Fatou was a real moment for me, you know,” Gorillaz drummer Russel Hobbs explains. “She’s an African Queen. This lady made the song what it is, beautiful, like life. What can I say about ‘Désolé?’ They say sorry is the hardest word, but that’s not true… Try saying antidisestablishmentarianism with a mouth full of gluten-free cronuts on a speed boat without licking your lips.”
