After being nominated for Group Of The Year for the 2021 Juno Awards, Half Moon Run have shared a black-and-white video for their new single, “How Come My Body.”
The new track marks a first preview of new music that’ll be released later this year by the band, paving the way for a dreamy new sound. The accompanying Sacha-Roy directed clip comes packed with shots of Half Moon Run at their live shows before the pandemic, offering up hugs and performing on stage.
“This song treats the body as a foreign entity, disassociated from and observed by the mind,” Devon Portielje explains of the track.

“I remember feeling confused and uncomfortable as a 20 year old, and I find myself feeling sympathy for that younger version of myself now,” Conner recalls of the origins of the track, which began in 2010. “I also feel sympathy and concern for people living through that metamorphosis between adolescence and adulthood in the modern world – perhaps some of you reading this now find yourselves in such a situation. Or perhaps some of you can think of loved ones that fit the description. Or maybe, like me, you can remember the days when you were struggling to come into your own. Well, we’d like to dedicate this song to all those people – wherever you may be.”
