Bristol punks IDLES have shared a hand-made video for their new single “Model Village.”
The perfectly quirky clip was created by Michel and Olivier Gondry, and it was pieced together over several weeks. Michel carved shaped and characters out of pieces of paper, while Olivier used his CGI skills to bring the clip to life in Paris.
“Michel’s work is handmade and it’s human and that’s something that our society pushes against: you need to be perfect. You need to look perfect and everything needs to be seamless and strong,” frontman Joe Talbot explains. “But actually, vulnerability and naivety are strengths. To be vulnerable and to be naive is to have empathy.”

IDLES’ forthcoming album Ultra Mono is set for release on September 25th.
