Watch: J Mascis and Matthew ‘Doc’ Dunn played a surprise set at a Toronto record store

The artists played to a crowd of only 40

Last night, Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis stopped by Toronto’s Grasshopper Records for a surprise performance to a crowd of only 40 with local artist Matthew “Doc” Dunn.

The indie rock icon and the local singer-songwriter wowed the audience throughout the set, with killer solos and unbelievable electric riffs. The artists closed the dynamic, expansive set with a cover of Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer,” which saw the talented guitarists riffing off wild guitar lines with each other.
