Watch: Jade Bird (Collective Arts Black Box Sessions)

Watch up-and-coming UK singer-songwriter Jade Bird perform live in the Collective Arts Black Box

Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Jade Bird was recently declared by Rolling Stone among “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know.” Despite hailing from Northumberland, England, her music is steeped in American country and folk music. As a child in an army family, Bird travelled throughout her youth, including living in the United States. She has stated that this had a big influence on her music.

At sixteen, Jade Bird moved to London to pursue a music career. Within a few years she was sharing stages with First Aid Kit and Son Little. She moved to the US and headed to the Catskills to record her first EP, Something American, with Simone Felice of the Felice Brothers. She visited Indie88 to perform a few songs including a cover of Johnny Cash’s “I’ve Been Everywhere”.
