With the spread of COVID-19, children around the world are missing out on quintessential high school experiences far and wide, including prom. John Krasinski hoped to remedy that problem on Friday night baby throwing his own virtual prom, which he shared through his new online show Some Good News.
“As you can see, my life couldn’t be any better. I throw proms now,” Krasinski explained to special guest Rainn Wilson as he went over the inspiration for the event. Krasinski decided to host the event after stumbling across a now-viral video of Alabama’s Marli Odgers and her father performing a father-daughter prom dance to Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road.” Krasinski even recruited Marli and her father to DJ the prom.
Throughout the clip, Krasinski brought on a variety of guests like Chance the Rapper, the Jonas Brothers, and Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas.

“We are all going through this together,” Krasinski said. “It’s a very weird time, but each and every one of you are missing something and this is the least I could do and I couldn’t be more proud to do it.”
