Last night, several artists put on a tribute concert called “Tiny Changes: A Celebration of the Songs of Scott Hutchison” for the late Frightened Rabbit frontman at Rough Trade in New York. A handful of musicians honoured Hutchison’s memory by performing covers of his songs to raise money for the Scott Hutchison Fund.
Among last night’s performers were Julien Baker, The National’s Aaron Dessner, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbers, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn, and Kevin Devine, several of which were close with Hutchison during his life. Baker was a special guest on their Recorded Songs EP, Death Cab took Frightened Rabbit on tour, and Dessner produced the band’s final album.
Watch Gibbard and Dessner performing “My Backwards Walk,” Baker performing “Holy,” and Baker and Dessner collaborating on “The Woodpile” below.
All proceeds went toward the Scott Hutchison Fund, which is a new mental health charity set up by Hutchison’s family.
