Watch: Julien Baker delivers stirring performance of ‘Favor’ on ‘Corden’

The track was originally released as a collaboration with her boygenius bandmates

Julien Baker took to The Late Late Show with James Corden last night (April 7th) for a performance of her Little Oblivions track, “Favor.”

The stirring performance sees Baker playing guitar along to the heartwrenching track, which was originally a collaboration with her boygenius bandmates Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Davus. Backed by a band, this powerful rendition sees Baker’s lyricism take the lead, as she delivers gut punching lines like, “And what right had you/ Not to let me die/ Oh but did I even know/ What I was asking for?”

Alongside the performance, Baker talked about her tour plans for the fall and her ability to play a whole slew of instruments, joking that her next goal is to learn the trombone.

“Julien is one of those people whose opinion you want to hear about everything. A true critical thinker with an ever-changing and ridiculously articulate worldview,” Bridgers explained upon the track’s release. “Her music changes in the same way, and this record is my favorite thing she’s ever done. I’m sure I’ll think the same about the next one.”
