Julien Baker is out on tour with Boygenius, her supergroup with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, and before the trio’s set, Baker performs a solo set on stage with her violinist, Camille Faulkner, every night. On Friday night in Los Angeles, The National’s Matt Berninger also joined her on stage to perform “All I Want.”
Berninger contributed the track to American Chaos, a documentary about the time leading up to the 2016 American election. The National frontman wrote and recorded the song with film composer Steph Altman, but he also recorded a duet version of it with Baker for an upcoming 7-inch single that will benefit Planned Parenthood.
