Justin Vernon, the center of Bon Iver among other things, is a Wisconsin native. Aaron Rodgers, as many sports fans will know, is the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Right before Bon Iver won Grammy for Best New Artist in 2012, Rodgers lead the Packers to a Super Bowl win and was named the NFL’s MVP. Arguably being the most popular Wisconsin residents in the world, they are also big fans of one another.
Recently, the duo got together at Lambeau Field in Green Bay for an interview for GQ. In the 42 minute long video, they talk movies, music, performance rituals and much more. At one point, Rodgers asks Vernon what inspired the iconic Bon Iver song “Holocene.” Vernon continues on to tell the story of how his brother and him walked around stoned on Christmas after watching Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.
