Lana Del Rey has pushed back the release of her forthcoming album, Blue Banisters. Alongside the news, Del Rey has teased a new track and shared the album’s cover art.
While Blue Banisters was slated to drop on July 4th, Del Rey took to Instagram on Saturday (July 3rd) to push that back. Now, the Blue Banisters release date is “TBD.”
“Album out later later… Single out soonish. Have a good fourth x,” Del Rey captioned the post. On the bright side, the post was a video that teases a new track. In the clip, Del Rey sings along to a slow, piano-driven track. “My body’s a map of the lake/ Stand straight like an angel,” Del Rey sings.

The forthcoming album marks the follow-up to Chemtrails Over The Country Club.
Chemtrails Over The Country Club is Del Rey’s most minimal album to date. It sees Del Rey exploring a new sound, as she weaves between hushed vocals and faint, plucked guitar lines. While the album sees Del Rey stripping back to a fundamental sound, she’s still able to build lush melodies and powerful narratives.
The refined album opens with “White Dress,” setting the tone for this soft, opulent sound, as it revolves around a minimalist pop sensibility. While most of the album has a slow-building energy to it, “Tulsa Jesus Freak” serves as a stand out, amping up the sound with some stuttering drums.
