Former Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo has been sharing rare live recordings and releases on Bandcamp, and he recently shared 1998’s Amarillo Ramp (for Robert Smithson).
Today, Ranaldo has shared a video for the album’s closing track, which is a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation,” featuring the late Epic Soundtracks on drums. The video comes packed with footage of friends and fans from across the world.
“During this time of enforced global confinement – the ‘planetary pause,’ as I’ve been calling it, I’ve been sorting thru some old releases, and came across my version of John Lennon’s ‘Isolation,’ which was recorded back in 1991 and released on the 1998 album Amarillo (for Robert Smithson),” Ranaldo explains.
