Watch: Local Natives share video for new track ‘Lemon (feat. Sharon Van Etten),’ announce forthcoming EP

'Sour Lemon' is set for release on October 23

Local Natives have announced their forthcoming EP Sour Lemon, which is set for release on October 23rd. As part of the announcement, they’ve shared a video for their new collaboration with Sharon Van Etten, “Lemon.”

“From the time we started writing to recording to shooting the video, I have moved to LA, Taylor had a child who is now 10 1/2 months, and Ryan is now engaged,” Van Etten explains. “I connected with the song at each stage: collaborating and getting to know each other, receiving their openness and generosity, recording the song and feeling the camaraderie and accepted as a part of the band, to shooting the video and reciprocating this longing and connection. Our friendship and our lives have grown since we first met, and this is a documentation of that… I’m looking forward to seeing where we all go from here.”

In “Lemon,” Local Natives’ Taylor Rice and Van Etten sing a duet about longing for connection, despite living in a world of isolation and distraction. The accompanying music video follows Rice and Van Etten as they walk along the LA River, only to meet briefly while crossing a bridge.
