Up-and-coming Toronto singer-songwriter LOONY has just dropped a video for her new single “Tread.”
The self-reflective new track explores the idea of inevitable bad habits that you find yourself returning to over and over. “It’s about the avoidance of intuition, falling back on bad habits and relationships out of convenience,” LOONY explained to The Fader. “Like treading water, you’re exerting energy, but physically you’re stuck in one place, hesitant to leave because the water’s warm. This song comes from the place of someone who knows better but is just too apathetic to do better.”
The accompanying video is cinematic, packed with powerful colours and artistic shots as LOONY sings alongside a group of characters in an eerie, almost haunted home.
