Lorde has risen!!! The New Zealand pop artist has returned with her highly anticipated new single, “Solar Power.”
This new tune is sure to be the song of the summer, as Lorde sings lines like, “Make the boys and girls onto the beaches/ Come one, come all, tell you my secrets/ I’m kinda like a prettier Jesus.” The track slowly builds into an explosive choral moment that sees Lorde crooning over a warm acoustic guitar line.
Co-written and produced by Jack Antonoff, “Solar Power” sees fellow indie pop giants Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo offering up some silky smooth background vocals, as Matt Chamberlin plays the drums. The accompanying video sees Lorde lounding on the beach in bright yellow and singing along to the tune with a group of beachgoers.

In a new email sent to fans, Lorde has revealed that her third album will also be called, Solar Power.
“The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” Lorde writes. “In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
