Toronto’s Luna Li has shared a video for her new track, “Alone But Not Lonely.”
The lush new dream pop track comes packed with kaleidoscopic instrumentals that see Luna Li singing the uplifting refrain. The accompanying Maya Balkaran and Kostadin Kolevopens-directed video comes packed with captivating clips of Li performing in a white room amidst a slew of globes, interspersed with shots of her beneath some hazy shadows.
“I wrote this song as an act of self-care, to cheer myself up during a darker time,” Li explains in an interview with i-D. “The phrase ‘alone but not lonely’ is a mantra I use to remind myself that I time with myself is valuable and special, something that should be celebrated.”

“I wrote ‘Alone But Not Lonely’ in my very first apartment which was cockroach infested,” Li adds. “I was feeling really uncomfortable and lonely in the new space, and decided to write this song to cheer myself up and entertain my newfound insect friends.”
Luna Li is set to support Japanese Breakfast on her forthcoming tour this fall.
