M83 are gearing up for the release of a new instrumental album called Digital Shades Vol. 2 or DSVII, and now they’ve offered up a new single, “Temple Of Sorrow.”
The ambient new track comes accompanied by the first part of a Bertrand Mandico-directed short film called Extazus, which was inspired by the video game-style tunes of DSVII.
“DSVII is, in my opinion, far more advanced than Digital Shades Vol. 1,” M83’s Anthony Gonzalez explains in a statement. “I wanted to come back with something stronger that featured the depth of a proper studio album without the pressure of providing pop music.”
Listen to “Temple Of Sorrow” below.
DSVII is set for release on September 20th.
