Interstellar French band M83 has dusted off an oldie from their 2005 album Before the Dawn Heals Us, added some smoky sensuality and delivered a video for “In the Cold I’m Standing”.
The band recently re-issued the record along with two others: their 2001 self-titled debut and 2003’s Dead Cities, Red Seas, & Lost Ghosts.
M83’s last full release was 2011’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, an epic, cinematic double-album full of the undulating synth and ethereal wails we’ve come to expect from the band.
The body and soul of the band, composer Anthony Gonzalez, dreamed of writing soundtracks – and last year fulfilled that dream. He wrote the scores for the Tom Cruise sci-fi film Oblivion and French comedy You and the Night. It’s probably why there’s no word on a follow-up to Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming just yet – but we’re hopeful!
