R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe chose to sing Bowie for his first solo television appearance and definitely didn’t fail to impress.
Alongside a pianist, Stipe belted out a classical rendition of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. His vocal range brings a certain originality and simplicity that recreates the vibe of the famously covered song.
Stipe will be performing at a David Bowie tribute concert at Carnegie Hall this weekend.
