Watch: Mississauga jewelry store employees fend off robbers with swords

Don't bring a hammer to a sword fight

An attempted robbery at a jewelry store located in the area of Airport Road and Beverly Street was quickly foiled by the shop’s owners, who fought off the suspected thieves with samurai-style swords. The incident took place early Wednesday afternoon, when four alleged suspects attempted to enter the store after smashing a window with a hammer.

The suspects escaped the scene in an SUV. No injuries were reported and no items were stolen from the store. The incident was captured on camera.

“We have to defend ourselves,” Arjun Kumar, the son of the store’s owner told CTV.

Police say an investigation is ongoing. As for the swords, the store owners assure everyone that they’re being kept in safe storage.
